I hope everyone had a great holiday season! Now let’s get to the challenge…
The New Year had me thinking about how quickly technology progresses from year to year, and what it might be like when I’m an old man. With that in mind, I thought it might be fun to revisit Luigi’s “Lifetime Challenge” by designing a character and following him or her throughout their lifetime, focusing on “how changes in future technology might affect them.”
Here are the RULES: [link]
1. Design a character.
2. Draw what that character will look like at 5 points throughout their lifetime, and show how they will interact with the progressing technology at each point.
a. Child
b. Teenager
c. Young Adult
d. Middle Age
e. Old Age
EXAMPLE: You could design a CHILD that starts off normally, but by the time he or she reaches OLD AGE they have robotic implants. Or maybe instead of a wheelchair they sit in some type of floating device. Etc.
Characters can be MALE or FEMALE.
You character MUST be interacting with TECHNOLOGY that progresses along with the character.
Your designs can be sketches or full blown clean-ups with color.
We ask that you ONLY submit NEW designs. If you drew it before the challenge was assigned, it will NOT be accepted. We are only interested in NEW designs created specifically as part of this challenge (it is a challenge after all).
Finally, please include the DAC GROUP name somewhere in your description when submitting. This will help us accept your art FASTER!
That's it! We hope you dig the challenge and can't wait to see your art!
Peace out,
JoE C!
PS: The next challenge will be assigned on -- January 15, 2012.
